Present Continuous Tense
Present Continuous Tense is used to talk about going on actions .
Structure of sentences while speaking about actions going on in the present .
I + am + v 1 + ing + obj + Extra words
ఇంగ్లిష్ సంభాషణలో tenses ఎంతో కీలకమైనవి .
* ఇచ్చిన సంభాషణలో am studying / am walking / am singing / am working ….
* ఈ am + v 1 + ing verb forms (present continuous / present progressive tense అంటారు )
* am + v 1 + ing ఇప్పుడు జరుగుతున్న పనులకు వాడతాం .
* am + v 1 + ing టైం తెలిస్తే అంటే ఏ టైం , ఏ రోజు , ఏ నెల , ఏ సంవత్సరం , ఎన్ని రోజులు , ఎంత సేపు , అనే వివరాలు తెలిస్తే జరగబోయే పనులకు వాడవచ్చు .
How to Form the Present Continuous Tense :
The present continuous tense is formed with am plus the – ing form of the main verbs .
I తో am వస్తుంది . తరువాత main verb కి ing form కలపాలి .
Rule : I + am + v 1 + ing + obj + Extra words
I am looking at- నేను చూస్తున్నాను
I am doing – నేను చేస్తున్నాను
I am doing now = నేను ఇప్పుడు చేస్తున్నాను
I am doing today = ఈరోజు నేను చేస్తున్నాను
I am doing tonight = ఈ రాత్రికి నేను చేస్తున్నాను
I am doing there = నేను అక్కడ చేస్తున్నాను
I am doing right now? = ప్రస్తుతం నేను చేస్తున్నాను
I am adding = నేను జోడిస్తున్నాను / నేను కలుపుతున్నాను
I am advising = నేను సలహా ఇస్తున్నాను
I am accepting = నేను అంగీకరిస్తున్నాను
I am bathing = నేను స్నానం చేస్తున్నాను
I am taking a bath = నేను స్నానం చేస్తున్నాను
I am bringing = నేను తీసుకువస్తున్నాను
I am beating = నేను కొడుతున్నాను
I am coming = నేను వస్తున్నాను
I am coming back = నేను తిరిగి వస్తున్నాను
I am calling = నేను పిలుస్తున్నాను
I am cursing = నేను శపిస్తున్నాను
I am crushing = నేను చూర్ణం చేస్తున్నాను
I am congratulating = నేను అభినందిస్తున్నాను
I am drinking = నేను తాగుతున్నాను
I am digging = నేను తవ్వుతున్నాను
I am going = నేను వెళుతున్నాను
I am giving = నేను ఇస్తున్నాను
I am getting = నేను పొందుతున్నాను
I am profiting = నేను లాభం పొందుతున్నాను
I am hanging = నేను వేలాడుతున్నాను
Definition of Present Continuous Tense :
• An action which is going on at the time of speaking . = మాట్లాడే సమయంలో జరుగుతున్న చర్య.
• A temporary action . = తాత్కాలిక చర్య.
• An action that you have already decided to do in the future . = భవిష్యత్తులో మీరు ఇప్పటికే చేయాలని నిర్ణయించుకున్న చర్య.
examples of Present Continuous Tense :
I am holding = నేను పట్టుకుంటున్నాను
I am inviting = నేను ఆహ్వానిస్తున్నాను
I am imitating = నేను అనుకరిస్తున్నాను
I am telling = నేను చెబుతున్నాను
I am jumping = నేను దూకుతున్నాను
I am killing = నేను చంపుతున్నాను
I am searching = నేను శోధిస్తున్నాను
I am leaving = నేను వదిలివేస్తున్నాను
I am laughing = నేను నవ్వుతున్నాను
I am living = నేను జీవిస్తున్నాను
I am paying = నేను చెల్లిస్తున్నాను
I am proving = నేను నిరూపిస్తున్నాను
I am pushing = నేను నెట్టివేస్తున్నాను
I am preserving = నేను సంరక్షిస్తున్నాను
I am reading = నేను చదువుతున్నాను
I am reading now = నేను ఇప్పుడు చదువుతున్నాను
I am reading right now = నేను ప్రస్తుతం చదువుతున్నాను
I am respecting= నేను గౌరవిస్తున్నాను
I am tearing = నేను చీల్చుతున్నాను
I am speaking = నేను మాట్లాడుతున్నాను
I am sleeping = నేను నిద్రపోతున్నాను
I am spending = నేను ఖర్చు చేస్తున్నాను
uses of present continuous tense :
1. Present continuous tense is used to tell an action that are happening at the time of speaking .
మాట్లాడే సమయంలో జరుగుతున్న ఒక చర్యను చెప్పడానికి ప్రస్తుతం present continuous tense ఉపయోగించబడుతుంది .
2.Present continuous tense is used to tell action happening in the present, even if it is not done at the time of speaking .
Present continuous tense మాట్లాడే సమయంలో చేయకపోయినా, వర్తమానంలో జరుగుతున్న చర్యలను చెప్పడానికి ఉపయోగిస్తారు .

I am writing to her = నేను ఆమెకు వ్రాస్తున్నాను
I am writing to this = దీనికి నేను వ్రాస్తున్నాను
I am walking = నేను నడుస్తున్నాను
I am washing = నేను కడుగుతున్నాను
I am winning = నేను గెలుచుకుంటున్నాను
I am wearing = నేను ధరిస్తున్నాను
I am warning = నేను హెచ్చరిస్తున్నాను
I am thinking about it = నేను దాని గురించి ఆలోచిస్తున్నాను
I am training = నేను శిక్షణ పొందుతున్నాను
Note :
కొన్ని verbs విషయంలో ఆ verbs చెప్పే పని ఇప్పుడు జరుగుతున్నా వాటిని am + v 1+ ing రూపం లో వాడం . అందుకు బదులు simple present form లోనే చెబుతాం . ఈ క్రింది verb లకు continuous రూపం లేదు . అంటే ing form వుండదు . కాబట్టి present simple గాను లేదా present continuous గాను గుర్తించాలి .

పై list లో ఇచ్చిన verbs ని ఎప్పుడూ am + v 1+ ing form లో వాడం .
ing does not come everywhere. __ ing అన్ని చోట్లా రాదు .
* verbs expressing feelings , emotions and actions of the mind ఎప్పుడూ am + v 1+ ing రూపం లో వాడం .
* మనసుకు , భావాలకు , మన బుద్దికి , ఆలోచనలకు సంబంధించిన విషయాలను తెలిపే verb లకు am + v 1+ ing రూపం లో వాడం .
వాటిని అలా వాడాల్సినప్పుడు simple present form లో వాడతాం . అంటే like / likes , think / thinks , ….form లో వాడతాం .
1. నేను ఆమెను ప్రేమిస్తున్నాను =I love her
( i am loving కాదు . ప్రేమించడం ఇప్పుడు జరుగుతున్నా సరే .)
2. నాకు ఇప్పుడు నీ సహాయం అవసరం = I need your help now (am needing కాదు ).
పై list లో మిగతా verbs కు కూడా ఇదే rule .
ముఖ్య విషయం :
పైన చెప్పిన verbs విషయం లో liking , loving , thinking , understanding …. etc. ing forms ను సందర్భాన్ని బట్టి వాడవచ్చు .
