Use of Interrogative Pronouns.
1. ‘who’ is used of persons only.
- ‘who‘ వ్యక్తులకు మాత్రమే ఉపయోగింపబడుతుంది .
Example : ఉదాహరణ :
- Who goes there ?
- Who will be the next prime minister ?
- Who made the top score ?
- who is knocking at the door ?
2. The interrogative pronoun ‘who’ has different forms for the Nominative, Possessive and Accusative cases .
- Who అనే Interrogative Pronoun కు Nominative Case , Possessive Case , Accusative case లలో వేర్వేరు రూపాలున్నాయి .
Example : ఉదాహరణ :
- Nominative : Who ? ( ఎవరు ) ?
- Possessive : Whose ? ( ఎవరిది ) ?
- Accusative : Whom ? ( ఎవరిని ) ?
ఏక , బహువచనములలోనూ స్త్రీ , పుంలింగములలో ఈ 3 రూపాలు మాత్రమే ఉపయోగింపబడును .
Example : ఉదాహరణ :
Who is there ? (Nominative )
Whose is this book ? (Possessive)
Whom do you want ? (Accusative)
3. ‘ which ‘ is used for both persons and things . It implies selection in a limited number .
- ‘ which ‘ వ్యక్తులకు , వస్తువులకు కూడ ఉపయోగిం పబడుతుంది . ఇది తక్కువ సంఖ్యలో నున్న వస్తువులు లేక మనుష్యలలోని ఎంపికను సూచిస్తుంది .
Example : ఉదాహరణ :
- Which is your friend ?
- Which of you has done this ?
- Which of these book is yours ?
- Which of these pictures do you like best ?
4. ‘ what ‘ is used of things only .
- ‘ what ‘ వస్తువులకు మాత్రమే ఉపయోగింపబడుతుంది .
Example : ఉదాహరణ :
- What do you want ?
- What have you found ?
- What was it all about ?
- What is sweeter than honey ?
5. ‘ what is he ? ‘ refers to the man’s profession ; ‘ what is he ? ‘ refers to the man’s name ?
- ‘ what is he ? ‘ అంటే అతని వృత్తి ఏమిటి ? అని అర్ధము . ‘ who is he ? ‘ అంటే అతడు ఎవరు ? లేక అతని పేరు ఏమిటి ? అని అర్ధము .
Example : ఉదాహరణ :
- what is he ? He is a doctor .
- who is he ? He is Mr. Ravi .
- what are you ? I am a teacher .
6. ‘ which and what ‘ are also used as Interrogative adjectives .
- ‘ which’ మరియు ‘ what ‘ అనేవి ప్రశ్నార్ధక విశేషణములుగా కూడా ఉపయోగింపబడుతుంది .

- Which way shall we go ?
- What books have you read ?
